Please read our Frequently Asked Questions for more information on our services. If you have a question that isn't in this list, please reach out to us and we will get back to you with an answer as soon as we can.

OTB acts as a seamless express shipping and delivery service between Cape Cod and Nantucket. 

​​

#1 Place an order online or over the phone with a cape store or warehouse that has what you need or the island doesn’t have.

​

#2 Contact OTB via text, call, or website to book the items shipment to Nantucket.

​

#3 Choose between Basic, Standard, and Premium OTB shipping.

​

#4 Pick the item(s) up from the Hyline or have them delivered to your home.

How does this work?

Ordering the item(s) online from the store or warehouse is the most efficient way to purchase and communicate with OTB. 

 

If the store does not have online services, call the desired store or warehouse to make sure they have the item(s) in stock, then pay for the item(s) over the phone, and notify OTB of the delivery name and phone number to pick up the item(s).

 

*If OTB must pay for any item(s) a 10% fee will be added per item. 

How do I purchase an item(s)?

OTB offers three types of shipments based on how fast the customer wants to receive the item(s) and their budget.

 

Premium: Same day shipping (next available ferry)

  • $85 + Hyline Ship to Shore 

Standard: 1-2 day shipping (attempt to avoid Hyline Fee by using truck reservation) 

  • $65​

Basic: Same Week shipping (flexible delivery and avoid Hyline Fee)

  • $55

How fast can I expect to receive my shipment?

Call, text, or fill out our online form immediately after purchasing an item(s) from a Cape Cod store or warehouse.

 

Be ready to provide the following information:

  • Store Name

  • Store Address

  • Description or name of the item(s)

  • Order #, Barcode, phone number, and/or name of who placed the order

When do I contact On The Boat to book my shipment?

When you book your shipment with OTB you will be asked if you would like to pick your item(s) up from the ferry terminal, if you would like to pick the item(s) up from our facility on-island, or if you would like the item(s) delivered to your on-island address ($35).

Where do I pick up my item(s) on-island?

Items are placed on the Ship to Shore cart as they were received from the store or warehouse. If the item(s) require special packaging or a vessel to be transported the cost of the material will be added to the invoice. 

 

OTB Grocery Delivery service will be delivered in freezer bags at no additional cost.

How are my items shipped On The Boat?

On The Boat accepts Cash, Venmo, and Credit Card. If a customer chooses to pay with a credit card they will be emailed an invoice due upon receipt. 

 

*Payment is required before shipping or upon receiving at the OTB/YFWT facility at 69 Surfside Rd.

How do I pay for my On The Boat shipment?

Hyline charges a fee to ship items over on the boat. The fee is based on size of the item and is as follows:

  • Minimum- $17.50

  • Half Cart- $56.50

  • Full Cart- $113

 

*Please note that the Hyline reserves the right to charge between any of these rates at their discretion, based on the item(s). These fees are not disputable.

What is a Hyline Ship to Shore Fee?

Yes, our sister shipping company Your Friend With A Truck has weekly standing reservations with the Steamship Authority. If your shipment delivery date is flexible OTB can place your item(s) on the next available truck, at no additional cost. OTB classifies this type of shipment as:

 

Standard or Basic Shipping

Can I avoid Hyline Ship to Shore Fees?

In the event of inclement weather or boat cancellation:

Item(s) shipped via Hyline Ship to Shore:

The Hyline office will notify you of the canceled boat and contact you once your shipment has been placed on the next operational boat.

Item(s) shipped via Truck Reservation:

OTB will notify you of the canceled boat and notify you when the item(s) have shipped.

What happens if the boat is canceled?

Yes, as long as the order was placed online or over the phone, and we have the information to receive it, we can ship it. OTB can provide heater or cooler bags if requested.  

 

We recommend scheduling the pick up time for the food in regard to the Hyline ferry schedule for the quickest turn around time.

Will On The Boat ship fast food or take-out?

Yes, currently OTB is running a weekly grocery shipment and delivery day from (stores with online ordering):

  • Whole Foods Market Place 

  • Target

Call, text, or tune into our social media to be notified of when we plan to run our grocery delivery program each week.

Will On The Boat ship groceries?

Yes, OTB shipping is ONLY for an item or a number of items that fit on a Hyline cart (50 cubic feet). If the item or items is too large OTB will refer you to our sister company Your Friend With A Truck, who can handle shipments of any size.

Is there anything On The Boat can’t ship?

Please reach out as we will see if we can complete or refer you to our sister company Your Friend With A Truck to complete the receival and shipment of the item(s) or just the receival, in which OTB would complete the shipment.

What if I want to purchase and ship something from off Cape?
